About Dan

I am a full time Real Estate Professional, committed to giving customers OUTSTANDING REAL ESTATE RESULTS! I am a Montana native who knows the diverse real estate market in the Bozeman area. Previous experience in construction, engineering, marketing, sales, and real estate investment gives me a diverse background. I apply this experience to help you have an enjoyable and productive real estate transaction!

My wife Nancy and I have two children who attend Bozeman public schools. The whole family participates in many of the recreational and social activities that Bozeman offers. We especially enjoy skiing, camping, mountain bike riding, backpacking, and fishing. Bozeman is one of the best places in the world for these activities!!! I would be happy to answer all your questions about Bozeman activities.

The details: I was born and raised in Billings, Montana. After high school, I completed a carpenter's apprentice program in Billings, which consisted of full time construction work and evening classes for two years. Starting in 1980, I attended Montana State University in Bozeman for four years, and received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. I graduated with highest honors in the top 5% of my class. For the next ten years I was a design engineer and engineering manager at AMI Semiconductors in Pocatello, Idaho. During this time I started to invest in real estate. Over the next several years I bought, sold, and built various real estate including homes, land, and a cabin.

In 1994, I moved to a Marketing Engineer position at AMI. In addition to advertising and marketing the product, I negotiated many million-dollar contracts with customers all over North America. I took several courses in marketing and negotiating techniques. During my time in Pocatello, I frequently returned to the Bozeman area to visit family and friends. During these visits, I kept an eye on the Bozeman real estate market for possible investment opportunities. In 1998 we moved back to Bozeman, and I started working as a Product Marketing Manager at ILX Lightwave, which makes fiber optic test equipment.

Nancy and I bought a home in Bozeman as soon as we moved here. In 2000, we decided to get a better house since we were settled in to Bozeman, and our two children were getting bigger. We bought some land and built the house we live in now.

For several years I had dreamed of becoming a Realtor, because I enjoy working with people, and I really like dealing with the various aspect of real estate. In January of 2002, I decided to pursue my dream. I took a 60-hour real estate class, which is required in Montana. I passed the real estate exam with a 96% on the National part and a 94% on the state part. (Requirements for passing are 80% and 70% respectively). I applied for jobs at several realty companies in Bozeman, and decided to work for Keller Williams Montana Realty mainly because I like their philosophy - it is an agent run company, and emphasizes customer service, training, and win-win relationships.

Many people thought I was crazy to leave a successful career to be a Realtor, but I am very happy I did. I have applied my previous experience to be successful in my new career in real estate. I excel at finding properties that match your desires, and emailing detailed property information and photos. Working together, I will help you select the best properties for us to visit, so your real estate experience is enjoyable and productive.

When it is time to sell your home, my extensive marketing experience helps us sell your home quickly at the right price. I work with you to develop a marketing plan that is best for you and your property.

I look forward to working with you!

Dan Jochem
